Metropolitan Chrysostomos has blessed the establishment of the first mission community in North America. Located in Liberty Hill, Texas, a suburb of Austin, the mission will seek to evangelize non-Orthodox in this largely evangelical Protestant area, while also serving as a beacon to members of world orthodox jurisdictions who are seeking the stability of a traditional Orthodox community.
The website for the new mission is www.st-andrew.church.
The Metropolia has also been criticized for the public use of Western Rites among some of its American clergy, which are generally regarded with suspicion among True Orthodox,
I am not sure which Metropolia you refer too. Within the North American Mission, which is stavropegial, we use only the Byzantine Rite.
